Privacy Policy
Last updated July 3, 2026. This policy explains what SmileFinder collects, why, and how you can control it.
What we collect
When you browse SmileFinder, our servers automatically log your IP address, request URL, and browser user-agent string for security and abuse-prevention. When you submit our consultation form we collect the information you provide (name, email, phone, ZIP code, and care need). We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or insurance ID numbers.
Cookies
We use a single first-party session cookie (SF_SESSION) to protect our consultation form against cross-site request forgery (CSRF). It is deleted when you close your browser. If our pages display advertising, the ad provider may set its own cookies; you can opt out at optout.aboutads.info.
How we use form submissions
If you fill out our quote form, your information is used to contact you with clinic recommendations. We do not sell your information. We may share your contact details with one or more clinics in our directory only after you've confirmed you'd like an introduction.
HIPAA notice
SmileFinder is a directory and a consumer-information site, not a covered entity under HIPAA. The clinics listed on our site are covered entities and operate under HIPAA. Information you submit through our consultation form is encrypted in transit and is not a substitute for medical communication with your provider.
Children's privacy
SmileFinder is intended for adult parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us at privacy@smilefinder.example and we will delete it.
Your rights
If you are a California, Colorado, Virginia, or other state-privacy-law resident, you may request a copy of any personal information we have about you, request that we correct it, or request that we delete it. Email privacy@smilefinder.example with the request and we'll respond within the time required by your state's law (typically 30–45 days).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time; the date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
